Let’s not discount what Wood has done his last three outings:
he’s allowed a total of 13 hits and no runs over those 18.1 innings
with a ridiculous ground ball to fly ball ratio of 23:1. That’s an insane number.
The thing is, he was cuffed around by the Giants the last time he gave up runs, allowing five in five innings.
The Cubs seem to be gathering momentum: they hit 10 homers in the four game series against the Giants
and the lineup is heating up while the rotation is improving as well.
Arrieta was sharp his last time out: look for the Cubs to draw first blood
as they keep their momentum going.
